MArch THESIS CREATORS' COLLECTIVE
My thesis project explored the insertion of new architecture into an existing block within Blackburn’s regeneration priority area, bringing new energy to empty buildings and supporting local existing businesses.
The Creators’ Collective establishes a new home for the Blackburn is Open arts project, local businesses and a performance centre for Blackburn College. The project spills out into the surrounding streets, inviting the public in and offering glimpses of activities within. It builds a strong visual identity, ensuring that the presence of town’s makers and performers is reinforced and amplified.

MArch DISSERTATION NORWAY'S NATIONAL TOURIST ROUTES
"How we came to view the landscape as a tourist experience and how it is being utilised as a commodity for consumption"
Sparked by a three week trip couchsurfing and camping around Scandinavia, the dissertation on Norway’s National Tourist Routes explores the way in which we came to view the landscape as a tourist experience and how it is being utilised as a commodity for consumption.
The project explores these themes through a personal photo diary, a condensed history of landscape from the eighteenth century onwards, and the popularisation of the automobile alongside the government led Norwegian scheme. Focusing as well on the architectural interventions en route, designed by both well established and young practices, satisfying traveller needs and creating innovative ways to display and experience the landscape.
Nominated for the RIBA Presidents Medal Part 2 Dissertation 2014.
